Doohamlet GFC Notes

Junior B’s: Doohamlet 2-06 Cremartin 2-03

Doohamlet Junior B’s began their league campaign on Saturday evening last with an away fixture against our neighbours Cremartin. Management team of Patsy Connolly and Sean McBennett can be happy with their first outing with this squad made up of a number of young players playing alongside seniors like Greg Duffy, Glen Comiskey, Gavin Duffy and Mark Murphy. Gavin King, Jason McElroy and Chris Malone also impressed.

Team: David Campbell, Jason McElroy, Pauric Marray, Shane P. Connolly, Barry Murphy, Emmett McManus, Gavin King, Chris Malone, Greg Duffy, Michael Marray, Glen Comiskey, Ciaran Finnegan, Gavin Duffy, Rory McManus, Mark Murphy. Subs used: Owen McKenna, Aidan Marray, Stephan Gilsenan.

Ulster League: Doohamlet 2-10 Middletown 0-08

Doohamlet travelled to Armagh side Middletown on Sunday morning last for this final fixture in the Ulster Intermediate league and after a scrappy affair emerged with a double score victory. Doohamlet short a number of seniors for various reasons took time to settle but after twenty minutes began to dominate and ran out easy winners in the end.

Fixture: Management have arranged a senior challenge match for this weekend. Check at training Friday night.

Well Done: A very proud day for our Club and the Walshe family on Sunday last when Colin Walshe made his National Football League debut for Monaghan against Tyrone last Sunday. Colin acquitted himself very well against such illustrious opposition. A great day all round and we wish Colin and the Monaghan team well in the remainder of the competition.

Volunteers: Work will commence on our new training field kindly leased to us by Anthony Connolly on Saturday evening next. Everyone from players, supporters, juveniles whoever are asked to turn up Saturday morning and we hope to make a start on this very exciting project.

Table Quiz: Doohamlet Development Association will hold their annual Table Quiz in Connolly Bar Lounge on Tuesday 16th March at 9pm sharp. A number of Spot Prizes to be won on the night with refreshments and drinks a plenty. This Association has done tremendous work for the community and with this Quiz their only source of income. We hope everyone turns up and supports such a hard working organisation.

Safety Notice: Juvenile players and parents are advised to be extra careful entering and exiting the Stoney Meadow before and after training. Cars travelling through the village at excessive speed are causing grave danger to pedestrians at this point so just everyone take extra care.
